MARATHON ROUTE DESCRIPTION

Tampere Countryside Marathon’s route meanders through the idyllic Näsijärvi bay and the only inland fjord in the Nordic countries, around Paarlahti.

The route leaves from near the Viitaniemi Farm in Viitapohja, Teisko and continues along a dirt track towards Kaakkolammi. The journey continues for approximately a kilometre along Pikitie but will reach a gravel track on the northern side of Pulesjärvi, which continues through Pohtola village back to Paarlahti beach in Vattula village.

The route will reach Pikitie at Vattula, where the journey will continue through Kämmenniemi and over the stone arch of Aunes bridge for around 10 kilometres until Padustaipaleentie. From here, the route continues on a forest dirt track through Kulkkila and Toriseva until Paarlahdentie.

The route continues from Paarlahdentie to Siltasavo road, which continues north and turns right onto Myllymaa road for a few kilometres before turning right again onto Hankajärventie up to Peräpohjantie.

We are again behind Viitapohja and the run’s final kilometres begin. Peräpohja road continues towards Sitko-oja dell, which turns right onto Viitapohjantie. The final straight opens up to rugged field and lake views, which will likely give a tired body the final spurt to reach the finish line.

The finish line is located near the starting line on Viitaniemi land.
